AIOU Islamabad Spring 2014 Admission Schedule

Islamabad, Allama Iqbal Open University is a well-managed educational institute, which is providing education to the students at different levels including the PhD classes through the correspondence. The candidates living in remote areas can get the benefit of Allama Iqbal Open University and they can complete different degree courses from this University. Now AIOU has announced the admission in the MS, PhD and MPhil programs and invites the candidates to apply for admission in these disciplines till Jan 31, 2014 with the regular fee. The candidates can also apply for admission by sending the application forms with fine of Rs.500 up to 10 Feb 2014. The candidates should note the disciplines in which admissions are being granted to the students, which are mentioned below:

MPhil/MS Programs
Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies:
  MPhil in Islamic Studies (General)    
  MPhil in Arabic    
  MPhil in Islamic Studies (with specialization in Quran and Tafseer)    
Faculty of Science:
  MS in Community Health and Nutrition - PGD in Nutrition/Dietetics is necessary. GAT not required at this stage.
  MPhil Chemistry    
Faculty of social Sciences & Humanities:
  MPhil Mass Communication    
  MPhil Iqbal Studies    
PhD Programs (MS/MPhil based)
Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies
  PhD Islamic Studies    
  PhD Islamic Studies (with specialization in Quran and Tafseer)    
Faculty of Sciences:
  PhD Chemistry    
Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities
  PhD Urdu    
  PhD Iqbal Studies    
  PhD in Pakistani languages and Literature    

For grant of admission in the MPhil and MS programs, the candidates should have qualified in the Master exams with 2nd Div in the relevant discipline and also qualified in the GAT test from the NTS with 50% marks.

For grant of admission in the PhD programs, the candidates should have passed qualified in the MPhil or MS programs with 1st div in the relevant subjects with 3 CGPA. The candidates should also qualified in the GAT test duly conducted by NTS with at least 50% marks.
