Dates and Schedule for AMC Admission 2013

Army Selection Centers present in most of the big cities of the country have the mandate to conduct the admission procedure for grant of admission in the college. When Army Medical College announces complete schedule for grant of admission, then General headquarters starts the selection of the cadets for the disciplines of MBBS and BDS following the military procedures.

Army Medical College announces admission of the new cadets in the MBBS/BDS courses in the college during September/October. Army Medical College is also affiliated with the National University or Sciences and Technology who conducts the written test of the candidates.  Complete schedule of the admission of the cadets in the Army Medical College will be updated.

The eligibility criteria of the candidates for grant of admission is FSc (Pre-Medical) from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of the country with at least 60% marks or an equivalent qualification (British General Certificate of Education (Advanced level)/International Baccalaureate/Overseas High School Certificate) in the subjects of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, which are also approved by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. The candidates will be 17-25 years of age and female candidates are also eligible for applying in the Army Medical College.

The candidates should contact with the National University of Sciences and Technology for obtaining admission forms and prospectus. The NUST will announce the date of entry test through press and electronic media and this test will be conducted in the big cities like Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Quetta, Lahore and Multan. The candidates, who will be declared successful in the written test, will be announced in the media and call letters will be sent on their addresses for their medical, intelligence and interview.

The written entry test will be included with the subjects like English, Chemistry, Biology and Physics and the percentage of the subjects will be distributed as Biology 40%, Chemistry 30% and Physics/English will be 15% each.

The tuition fee and the accommodation charges are varied from time to time and the college fixes these fee and allied charges keeping in view their expenditures incurred on the cadets. The overall fee and charges are given as under:

Tuition Fees:
NUST cadets              –         Rs. 13,000 pm

Foreign cadets             –         Rs. 10,000 pm

Paying cadets              –         Rs. 3,000 pm
NOTE:  Tuition fee is not include with accommodation charges.

Accommodation Fees:
All paying students     –          Rs. 3,000pm

Army Medical College is offering admissions in the courses at undergraduate levels are Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).

The college is also offering admissions in the courses at postgraduate levels are MPhil in Anatomy, Chemical Pathology, Molecular Medicine, Pharmacology, Physiology, Community Medicine, Hematology, Histopathology, Microbiology and Science of Dental Medicine.

The candidates should appear in the written test being held in the major cities of the country and the medical exams of the passed candidates will be held in the Military Hospitals nearest to their home stations. The written test will be MCQ type on the basis of FSc syllabus in the subjects like English, Biology, Physics and Chemistry under NUST arrangements.

The Selection Board at General Headquarters Rawalpindi will conduct the intelligence/ personality tests and interviews of the candidates on the basis of their overall performance at all stages. After the selection of the candidates, they will have to sign the bond respecting their service in the Army for at least period of 13 years and the period of this bond will be started on the successful completion of their MBBS/BDS degree programs. After passing their MBBS/BDS degree courses, the graduate of the Army Medical College will complete their 22 weeks basic military training at PMA Kakul. On the successful completion of the 22 weeks basic military training at PMA Kakul, the graduates of AMC will be given regular permanent commission in Pakistan Army as Captain. After completion of graduation, the female cadets will join the Armed Forces Post Graduate Medical Institute for the purpose.
