1255 Students Got Degrees in PU 121st Convocation

Lahore, The University of the Punjab has organized its 121st annual convocation in the Faisal Auditorium, New Campus of Punjab University in which about 1255 candidates were awarded degrees.

According to the Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, Prof Dr. Mujahid Kamran it was the national record of any University in the country to confer 206 PhD degrees to the candidates in a year. There are various other levels in which degrees are awarded which are included MPhil, master and bachelor degrees for which 345, 339 and 180 degrees respectively given to the students in this convocation. There are about 155 students who have been given medals for showing their brilliant performances in their academic year. This is the first convocation in the history of Punjab University in which the whole proceeding is carried out in Urdu language.

Establishment of Medical Teaching Hospital at Khairpur

Khairpur, Sindh government is going to establish a medical teaching hospital in Khairpur in which the medical education will be given to the students of Khairpur Medical College. This teaching hospital will also provide the medical and health utilities to the patients of the city and surrounding areas.

Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah laid the foundation stone of the Khairpur Medical College and medical teaching hospital and announced its affiliation with Liaqat University of Medical and Health Sciences. While addressing the ceremony of Khairpur medical college and teaching hospital, Chief Minister said that the PPP government has the intention of providing high quality of education to the students of the area and better medical and health facilities to the patients. He also announced that his government will also increased the budget allocated for the establishment of medical college in which young boys and girls will get education and treat the patients of the local area under the supervision of their senior doctors and faculty staff. The chief minister has also instructed the Secretary of Health for the beginning of the college and hospital.

University of Karachi MA IR Result

Karachi, The result of annual external examination 2011 for the MA (Previous) International Relations has been conducted by the University of Karachi.

KU MA IR Result

The details show that 4330 candidates appeared in the total 4730 registered candidates in the exams of MA (Previous) International Relations. There are only 1428 candidates who were declared successful in the annual exams of MA (Previous) International Relations. The percentage comes only 32.98% in this annual exam.

HEC awards Sports Scholarships to SU Students

Karachi, Sindh University Jamshoro students participated in the 36th National Games 2012 which were held in Lahore. The two boxers of this university showed their tremendous performance in the National Games and they won first and third positions in the event.

The Director Sports (Boys) said that two boxers of Sindh University Jamshoro, Hussain Shah and Israr Shah showed  brilliant performance in the event and they won gold and bronze medals in the event. Hussain Shah remained unbeaten in the event and he won all the contests and got first position. Due to their brilliant performance, Higher Education Commission has announced sports scholarships for both students for the period of one year.

MS/MPhil Admissions Starts in Gujrat University 2013

Gujrat, Admissions in MS/MPhil are started in University of Gujrat for the year 2013 which will be started from December 31, 2012 and the admission process will close on January 16, 2013. The students obtain admission forms from the Bank of Punjab, main University of Sargodha branch or from the circular road (Fawara Chowk) branch and submit till January 16, 2013 positively.

University of Gujrat offers admissions in the disciplines like Mathematics, English (Literature), Multimedia & Digital Arts, Mass Communication, Psychology, Economics, Chemistry, Sociology, Education, Statistics, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, English (Linguistics), Biotechnology, Physics, Fine Arts (Research Track), Zoology, International Relations, Botany,  Islamic Studies and in the evening program as part time like Electrical and Chemical Engineering and Management Sciences.

The candidates who have passed their sixteen years of education like MA/MSc/BS-4 years degree/BSc (Engineering/BBA/BE or the equivalent degree. They must have got at least 45% marks in the annual exams or got 2.5 CGPA  in the semester system in his academic career with GAT General (NTS) or 50% accumulative score in GRE. The eligible candidates must have to appear in the departmental Subject Based Written Test and the qualifying candidates will have to appear for an interview.

The written exams will be conducted on January 20, 2013 and the candidates who qualify in the written exams will have to appear in the interview from January 23 to 25, 2013. The final merit list of the successful candidates will be displayed on the notice board of the department on January 28, 2013 and they must have deposit their admission fee till January 31, 2013.

The candidates who are already serving the government job should apply through proper channel or submit their NOC of the department with study leave duly approved by the department concerned of the candidate at the time of registration. The candidates can get further information from their relevant department.

Extension in FUUAST Admission form submission date till Jan 03

Karachi, The admission in arts and sciences subject in Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology are in process but keeping in view the feasibility of the students, the last date for submission of admission forms is hereby extended up to January 03, 2013.

The candidates who seek admission in arts subjects including Economics, Business Administration, Commerce and Law should contact with the bank branches of Abdul Haq campus for obtaining admission forms and the students who seek admission in the science subjects including Geology, Computer Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacy and Biochemistry should contact with the Gulshan-i-Iqbal campus for obtaining admission forms and submit them within due date.

PU Issues B.A/B.Sc Annual Examination Schedule, 2013

The complete schedule to conduct the annual exams for BA/BSc classes has been issued by the Punjab University for which notification bearing no. 234/Cond.D.S dated 03 September 2012 has already been issued. Now Punjab University again issued a notification in this regard in which it is stated that the annual exams for BA/BSc classes will be started from April 04, 2013.

121st Punjab University Convocation Celebrate on Dec 29

Lahore, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran called convocation meeting of the staff to look after the matter relating to the celebration of 121st convocation which is being held on December 29, 2012. During the meeting, all necessary arrangements for which the sub-committees are responsible for conducting the convocation, were analyzed.

It is decided that the annual convocation will be held in the Faisal Auditorium, New Campus of the University. The participants of the convocation have shown their satisfaction over the preparations and arrangements being made for the convocation.

Public & Winter vacations In Sindh from 21st to 31st Dec 2012

Karachi, With the arrival of winter season, the government and private schools of Sindh province have been declared the winter vacations in the schools and other educational institutions. The government of Sindh announced that the winter vacation in public and private educational institutions will start from December 21, 2012 and lasts for December 31, 2012.

Sindh government has also announced that there will be public holidays in the whole province for two days from December 27 to 28, 2012 in the commemoration of the death of former Premier of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto and the 269th Urs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhattai. All government offices including corporations, union councils, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies will remain close on these two holidays.

Gujrat University Commences Registration for Short Courses IELTS and GATT 2013

Gujrat, The administration of the Gujrat University has announced that they are going to announce the registration for the short courses of GATT & IELTS in languages like French, English and German in the department of Modern Languages and Learning Center of the University. Registration of the courses is being carried out in the University

The university administration also announce the admission in the 6 months certificate courses in the languages like English for hotel and tourism, French, German and English.
