AIOU Inaugurates Program Open Schooling for 1 Million Children

Islamabad, Allama Iqbal Open University is going to launch their outstanding and unique program for imparting education to 1 million dropout children under their program entitled ‘Educate a Child’. Vice Chancellor Allama Iqbal Open University, Prof Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi has said that this program is launched for providing education facilities to 1 million children in different cities of the country. Commonwealth and other well known organization of the world funded and supported this unique type and way of education which will be given to the dropout children especially to a large number of girls who cannot get or carry on their education due to their financial problems.

He further said that AIOU has designed a curriculum for the students in which not only education is given to the students but also some skilled based profession will also be taught to the students so that they can get education and can also be able to earn money for their families. These schools will be established in Chakwak, Thatha and Vehari in the initial stage and then their network will be spread to give benefits to the children living in other areas of the country. The skilled based training and education will be given in the profession including first aid training, gardening, policing and dress making.

BISE Swat Announces Matric Annual Exams Schedule 2013

Swat, The annual exams for matriculation exams for 9th & 10th both classes of Swat Board will be started from March 13, 2013. According to the schedule the students who want to appear in the matric annual exams 2013 conducted by Swat Board, should obtain admission forms and submit with their admission fee.

The board sources said that the students should deposit their admission fee in shape of cash deposit in Allied Bank Limited Board branch of Swat Board or by sending the money order which will be remitted to the Secretary of the board. The students should attach original bank receipt of their admission fee or money order with their admission forms for the convenience of the board staff and ensure their payment of admission fee.

BISE Faisalabad Announces Matric Annual Exams Schedule 2013

Faisalabad, Faisalabad board has declared that the annual matriculation exams for 2013 will be started from February 23, 2013. As it has already been announced in the meeting of the Chairmen of all Educational boards of the province held at Dera Ghazi Khan on November 22, 2012 that both the annual exams of matric and intermediate for the year 2013 will be held on February 23 and April 02, 2013 respectively.

Faisalabad board issued schedule for the matric annual exams for 2013 and invited all the interested students to apply for admission which will be started from December 5 or 6, 2012 and it will last for December 24, 2012. The students should obtain admission forms and submit till December 24, 2012 with normal fee.

Rescue 1122 Held Training Workshop at Punjab University

Lahore, Rescue 1122 held a training workshop for giving training of basic skills to the students in the department of Applied Psychology Punjab University. The main objective of this training is to give awareness and knowledge about rescue operations and their functions.

The training and the practical demonstration was attended by the Head of the department of Applied Psychology Prof Dr. Rukhsana Kousar, Program Coordinator Ms Shahnila Tariq, learned professors and students of the department. The workshop was supervised by the District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Dr. Ahmed Raza gave briefing to the participants about rescue 1122 and said that it is a life saving force. Other trainers including Ms. Firdous, Ms Marium and Mr. Azam gave training to the participants and gave them practical demonstration of firefighting and first aid emergency medical help to the students.

Prof Dr. Rukhsana Kousar thanked the staff of Rescue 1122 and encouraged their training and practical session especially their demo session in which training of different operation was given to the students.

PGD Statistics Admission Commences at KU

Karachi, The Head of the Department of Statistics, Prof. Dr. Mudassir Uddin has said that their department is going to start admission in PGD Statistics in Karachi University and this process will be commenced from December 03, 2012. The concerned department asked the interested and eligible students to obtain application forms for admission in PGD Statistics and submit them after completing them till final date which is December 21, 2012.

He further added that the candidates who have passed their graduate level degree from any HEC recognized university then they can apply for the admission which will be granted on merit base and without any entry test. The list of the successful candidates will be displayed on December 26 on the notice board of the department and the students will deposit their admission fee on or before January 04, 2013 and the classes for the PGD course will be started from January 07, 2013 from 03:00 pm to 05:30 pm. The duration of the course will be one year and the students who qualified this exam can apply for appearing in MA/MSc Computer Science or Statistics.

BISEs Punjab Matric & Inter Annual Exams Schedule 2013

Multan, the Chairman of BISE, Chaudhry Bashir that all the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education of the province have decided to start Matric and Inter annual examination 2013 from February 23 and April 02, 2013 respectively.

According to the details, the Boards Chairman submitted an application to the Punjab government with a proposal to conduct matric and inter exams during February and April keeping in view the upcoming general elections and the hot season of summer in June and July.

The meeting of the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen held at Dera Ghazi Khan on November 22 it was decided that the annual exams of both matric and inter will be held on the dates mentioned above. It was also decided that the students who want to appear in the matric exams may apply for the exams by submitting their admission forms which will be available with the boards on December 5 or 6 and this process will be continued for December 26, 2012.

Furthermore the admission process for intermediate class will be started on December 26, 2012 and further information will be intimated later on.

50,000 Students Get Internship by Punjab Govt.

Lahore, The Chief Minister of Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif held a meeting with the Senator Pervez Rashid, Zaeem Qadri and secretaries of higher education to review the internship policy of the government. During meeting it was decided that the internship letters to more than 30,000 graduates have been sent and they are doing their jobs for getting experience and practical exposure of their education.

The meeting which was presided over by the Chief Minister, it was decided that remaining graduates will also be given chances for internship training. He also emphasized the Chambers of Commerce and Industries for providing extensive support to the internee graduates.

He further added that Punjab government started this program for the young graduates who completed their education but they do not find any job in any company or organization due to non availability of experience. This unique program will provide them experience and the practical exposure of their education and they will be an efficient worker and become the useful member of the society. He also emphasized the youth for the better use of their votes which can bring positive and healthy change in the country.

UoP Conducts Degree Awarding Convocation 2012 to about 500 Graduates

Peshawar, A degree awarding convocation 2012 was held in Peshawar University in which chief guest KPK Governor Barrister Masood Kausar distributed degrees among degree holder students of the University belonging to different departments.

According to the details, total 481 students of different disciplines including 10 PhD and 11 MPhil students have been awarded with degrees during the convocation 2012. There are about 31 students comprising of 19 boys and 12 girls of various disciplines who have been awarded with gold medals by the chief guest.

The chief guest while addressing the convocation said that the young generation can manage the country in efficient manners as they have vast opportunities of getting education in various disciplines. The students are the future of our homeland and if we provide them quality of education and better environment to flourish their talents and capabilities then they will produce efficient result and they run the country and distribute in the development of the country. We want to make our country according to the ideology and thinking of our great leader, Quaid-e-Azam. Our military and law enforcement agencies are facing great problems in defending the homeland and we will stand shoulder to shoulder to our army and other agencies in order to bring peace and harmony in the society.

Spring 2013 Admission Starts in UET Lahore IB&M Dept

Lahore, The IB&M Department of University of Engineering and Technology Lahore has made announcement for the commencement of admission in Executive MBA programs for Spring 2013. The IB&M issued some necessary information for the guidance of the candidates who seek admission in the aforementioned discipline.

According to the detailed information, the interested candidates can obtain admission forms from the admission office of the IB&M department of the UET Lahore or down load from the website of IB&M and submit the same after fulfilling all pre-requisites to the admission office of the department till December 20, 2012.

The candidates who have completed their 14 years education with 4 years of work experience or 16 years of education with 2 years work experience are eligible for grant of admission in PGD. The selection committee will decide the admission of the students keeping in view their previous educational record, interview and work experience. The students who want to get admission in the Executive MBA program should also qualified in the GAT Test General (Minimum – 50). The University has also announced admission in different courses including Professional Development course and Industry Professional course. For the Professional Development Course, the classes will be held once in a week in the evening at the weekends of 4 hours for 3 months which will be constituted of one semester.
