AIOU Inaugurates Program Open Schooling for 1 Million Children

Islamabad, Allama Iqbal Open University is going to launch their outstanding and unique program for imparting education to 1 million dropout children under their program entitled ‘Educate a Child’. Vice Chancellor Allama Iqbal Open University, Prof Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi has said that this program is launched for providing education facilities to 1 million children in different cities of the country. Commonwealth and other well known organization of the world funded and supported this unique type and way of education which will be given to the dropout children especially to a large number of girls who cannot get or carry on their education due to their financial problems.

He further said that AIOU has designed a curriculum for the students in which not only education is given to the students but also some skilled based profession will also be taught to the students so that they can get education and can also be able to earn money for their families. These schools will be established in Chakwak, Thatha and Vehari in the initial stage and then their network will be spread to give benefits to the children living in other areas of the country. The skilled based training and education will be given in the profession including first aid training, gardening, policing and dress making.
