AIOU Organizes First National Symposium on Physics & Emerging Sciences

Islamabad, To provide an opportunity for sharing the ideas and experiences of the knowledge and the talents of various Physicists performing their jobs in various departments of the country, Allama Iqbal Open University has organized first National Symposium on Physics and other Emerging Sciences. The main objective of this National symposium is to bring the physicists closer to each other for taking advantage of their capabilities and talents. This Symposium will give you fresh motivation for further research in the field of Physics including Atomic Molecular Physics, Cosmology, Health Physics, Renewable energy, Computational physics, High Energy Physics, Nano technologies, Plasma Physics, Material Science, Laser Physics and Nuclear Physics.

The candidates and learned scholars are requested to get registered themselves for the National Symposium for registration fee only Rs.1000 and submit their abstract before January 05, 2013. The date for the acceptance of the abstract is January 21, 2013 and the submission of the abstract is February 11, 2013.

Admissions Offered in BBUVAS 2013

Sakrand, Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Sakrand is going to offer admission to the students for 1st Professional Doctor of Veterinary Medicines for Academic year 2013. The University has announced the program for grant of admission in which candidates are instructed to obtain admission forms from the admin office of the University. The candidates should submit admission forms with postal order of Rs.500 with the application forms.

The candidates must obtained at least 50% marks in their intermediate exams (pre-medical) and they should be the resident of Sindh province so these candidates will be considered eligible for grant of admission in the 1st Professional Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. The candidates who have already applied for admission in Professional Doctor of veterinary Medicine should not apply again as their previous applications will be considered for grant of admission.

Apart from these, the University has also announced some seats which are reserved for grant of admission on the self finance basis according to under mentioned procedure:

The candidates having domicile of Sindh province will deposit fee of Rs.100,000, the students having domicile of provinces other than Sindh will deposit fee of Rs.300,000 and the overseas students will have to deposit fee of US $5000 for grant of admission in the university.

FCC Awards Degrees to 158 Students in Convocation

Lahore, Foreman Christian College Lahore has awarded degrees to about 158 students in the convocation held in the college on December 01, 2012. The candidates, who attended the convocation, received their degrees from the chief guest Mr. James Tebbe, the new Rector of FCC Lahore.

While delivering the speech with the participants of the convocation, Dr. James Tebbe said that this institution has served the nation in the past with its dynamic and splendid education system and improved the standard of education. The FCC which is also known as a chartered university is imparting education to the students on great value which helps them to play important role in the nation building, the students who received their degrees today are the future of our country and they will prove beneficial for the development of the country.

He lauded the tremendous efforts of his predecessor Dr. Peter Armacost who introduced the liberal arts styles in the country and implemented in the institution successfully in 2004. The standard of education being imparted in the institution will help the students to develop their status and grow with the excellence and play important role in the betterment and prosperity of the country. There are still 6,000 students who are getting education in different disciplines in different programs including intermediate, graduation and post graduation.

Amendments in Punjab University BA/BSc Regulations

LAHORE: Various queries in Punjab University BA/BSc exams have been pointed out by the Controller of Examination of Punjab University in order to prevent the students for appearing of private/external degree candidates in the BA/BSc exams from 2014.

In response to the queries raised by the Controller of Examination, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University has constituted a committee to resolve the queries in continuation of the office notification no.4557 dated 14-11-2012. The chairman of the committee gave some recommendations on the queries to resolve the problems for which Vice Chancellor of Punjab University accorded approval.

The student who appears in the exams of BSc as private candidate with the combination of subjects having no practical portion will be allowed to appear in the exams.

The candidate who wants to appear in the BA exams as private candidate with the combination of subjects (elective and optional) involving practical portion will not be allowed to appear in the exams.

The candidate who appeared in the BA exams already and pass it, now he/she wants to appear in the additional subject/s without any practical portion will be allowed to appear in the exams.

If a student who has passed the BSc exams as regular and now he/she wants to appear in the additional subject/s of BSc exams with practical portion, then he/she will be allowed to appear in the additional subject/s with their practical if he/she can produce the certificate of recognized/affiliated college principal where he/she has completed their practical work.

FCC Red Crescent Youth Group Train for Emergency Services

Lahore, The Red Crescent Youth Group of Foreman Christian College Lahore got training of emergency service for helping the students, faculty members and for remaining staff of the college.

If there is any emergency or need medical or fore or disaster emergency, they should call at 0336 7335433 which will provide you services of FCC Emergency Services.

Rescue 1122 gave training of emergency services to the students which they can execute during emergencies or some kind of accident. The students have been divided into two groups to perform two types of activities. The first group will perform the Medical First Responder or MFR activities and they are well trained for providing medical emergencies. This group is also given the knowledge to cope with the situation of natural calamities and fire emergencies. The other group is Basic Life Supporters which is also known as BLS are well trained for coping with the situations of fire emergencies and basic medical emergencies.

International Undergraduate Conference Accepted FCC Students Papers

Lahore, University of East London has organized an International Development: progress, Regress or Stasis conference for which they invited papers from the students all over the world. The University received papers from different Universities of the world and undergraduate conference was held on 10 November 2012.

Husnain Iqbal and Javeria Younas Abbasi of Foreman Christian College Lahore wrote their papers for submitted them to the University of East London. Husnain wrote his paper on the topic ‘Humanitarian intervention in Libya: Humanitarianism or Western powers’ interests?’ while Javeria Younas Abbasi wrote her paper on ‘US aid to Pakistan; International Democratization versus geo-political interests’ which were considered by the University of East London and included in the contest. Both papers of the aforementioned students got approval in the University

The success of both students of FCC Lahore shows their talents and efforts of the college faculty members of Political Science Department of the University. The standard of education prevailed in the College brought them to the peak of their academic career and broaden their view in the educational field as well.

PU, VU Agree FM and TV Channels Sharing

Lahore, In order to get benefit of IT facilities of FM radio and television channel fort spreading of higher education in the country, Punjab University and Virtual University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding. During the signing of MoU, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Mujahid Kamran and Advisor Virtual University Prof Dr. Naveed Mailk have signed the MoU which help them to spread higher education to the distant parts of the country.

Managing Director Virtual University Tajdar Alam, Principal PUCIT Prof Dr Mansoor sarwar, Director External Linkages Maria I Maldonado, Director of Instuitute of Communication Studies Prof Dr. Ahsan Akhtar Naz and Assistant Professor Amir Bajwa also attended the MoU signing ceremony.

According to the detail of MoU, both universities will get the benefit of spreading of higher education by using of FM radio and television channel. They also agreed for cooperating with each other as no expenditures are incurred on airtime of both sources. Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran said on this occasion that they will cooperate with each other for the improvement of higher education in the country through the use of these facilities. Dr Naveed Mailk hoped that both universities will take advantage of these facilities and help each other for spreading of education. at this time he also showed his expectations for the betterment of education. he also encouraged the strenuous efforts of Prof Dr Mansoor Sarwar for making development of the course.
