B.Com Supply Exams 2012 of Punjab University Commences from Nov 28

Rawalpindi, The supply exams of B. Com Part I for the year 2012 is going to start on November 28, 2012 and the supply exams of B.Com Part II for the year 2012 will be started from November 29, 2012. This schedule was announced by the examination department of the Punjab University.

Peshawar University Commences Distance Learning Program for Afghan Students

Peshawar, Peshawar University has started some research programs with the University of Nangarhar and University of Kabul and now they have enhanced their programs by distant learning programs. The research work is being done in various other fields for resource exploration in Afghanistan.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Qibla Ayaz stated while talking with the three member delegation of Canadian High Commissioner. The delegation was led by the Political Counselor Denis Chouinard and other two members were Christopher Martin, Analyst Asia Division for the government of Canada and Mr. Uday Sequine who is the first secretary (political) of the High Commission of Canada, Islamabad.

Dr. Qibla Ayaz was of the view that the people living in both countries have strong relationships with each other and their movements cannot be stopped as they have intimation and bonds among the people living across Durand Line.

Director, Pakistan Studies center Prof Fakhr ul Islam and Prof Babar Shah were also present in the meeting.

Applicants for Teachers’ Hiring Not Yet Appointed

Karachi, the Education and Literacy Department of Ministry of Education Sindh was called applications from the interested candidates for about 18,248 teachers posts in different primary, junior and high schools six month ago. For this purpose the concerned department gave advertisements in the newspapers for the vacant posts and the application received till 20 May.

In response to the advertisements published in the newspapers, about 700,000 applications were received for which education department received Rs.300 as processing fee but the education Minister interfered into the matter and the processing fee was reduced to Rs.30 only. Reform Support Unit was formed for conducting the written test of the candidates for which the SRU sought proposals for conducting the exams or written exams.

After that the RSU needed to solve their financial problems for which they dealt their matter with the bidders and they hoped that the matter will be solved at the end of this month. They also certain they can issue appointment letter very soon but the problems hindering in the way seem obstacle for solving their problems and the process for the appointment of teachers will be delayed further.

UHS Lahore Issued First Merit List for MBBS/BDS Admissions 2012-13

Lahore, the first merit list for grant of admission to MBBS/BDS in all government medical and dental colleges of the province for the period of 2012-13 is going to be declared on November 26, 2012.

The details of the merit list of the medical and dental college students will be uploaded on the website of the University. The students can check their details. The government medical and dental colleges of the provinces which are associated with the University are as under:

University of Health Sciences Lahore is a well organized medical institution in the province in which education is not only imparted in it but also in 80 other affiliated or associated medical and dental institutions of the province. WWF Award Scholarships to 5,000 Students

Islamabad, The Worker Welfare Fund has announced that they are going to award 5,000 scholarships to the brilliant but needy students of various levels who showed their brilliant performance during their academic year but they cannot continue their education due to their week financial position.

Worker Welfare Fund is a statuary body of Ministry of Human Resources Development whose account is with Accountant General Pakistan Revenue and it came into being in 1971 as a result of Workers Welfare Fund Ordinance, 1971. With the 18th amendment in the constitution this fund was transferred to the provinces. This fund is functioning with the objective to provide low rented accommodation to its registered workers. This fund also provides necessary assistance to the labour on the marriages of their daughters and financial aid to the heir of the deceased workers. It is also mandated for managing the fund according to the rules and regulations and use this fund for the welfare of the workers which is collected from for fund sources and placed it for the welfare of the registered workers.

FJWU Media Department Set Up TV Studio

Rawalpindi, The media department of the Fatima Jinnah Women University has crossed another milestone by establishing a remarkable television studio which is equipped with modern and latest accessories.

An inauguration ceremony was held in which Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Women University Prof. Dr. Samina Amin Qadir was the chief guest and various other head of the departments including other faculty members and students were invited in the ceremony. The Head of the department Dr. Shamim Zaidi welcomed the guests and said that it is great honour for the whole university that a well equipped television studio has been set up in the university which help to keep the students updated with the changes in the world.

Vice Chancellor also said which addressing the ceremony that it is a time of good gesture that with the launch of television studio the students will be aware of different changed brought in the fields of science and technology. She also thanked the Project Director Brig (r) Abara and Sheikh Amjad for their excellent supervision in execution of this wonderful project. She also said that it is an excellent effort and it is a fine asset for the university and she also invited other organizations, private firms and other universities or institutions to get benefit of this television studio. She also said that the existence of television studio is according to vision of founder Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Najma Najam. Finally the Project Manager Tehreem Rashid briefed the whole audience about the projects and its functioning and she hoped that its formal inauguration will be done after Moharram.

NTS GAT General Test Schedule 2013 Issued

Islamabad, National Test Series after getting task from the Higher Education Commission announced their schedule for conducting General Assessment test GAT General Test 2013 for grant of admission in M.Phil and HEC Scholarship scheme. According to their detailed information the students who want to appear in the GAT, are hereby asked to forward their registration forms. The final date set by NTS for submission of registration form is December 10, 2012 and the test will be held on January 06, 2013.

The candidates who have completed their 16 years education are eligible for appearing in the M.Phil and HEC Scholarship program tests and the students who have already appeared in the test previously may also appear in the exams to improve their GAT score. The test centers has been set by the NTS in the following cities including Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Multan, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Gujranwala, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur.

For the registration process of the test is to down load registration forms from the website of the NTS and bank deposit slip from which you can deposit the fee of Rs.900 in the online branches of United Bank, Allied Bank, Muslim Commercial Bank and Habib Bank. The candidates should attach two photo graphs with the registration forms on its front side and bank deposit slip with the forms and no other document is needed by NTS.

Matric Part I Marks Sheets Ready by BSEK

Karachi, The marks sheets for matric Part I class has been prepared for the science group of annual exams 2012. The board administration has announced that all the marks sheets will be delivered to the students in the conference hall of the board from November 26, 2012 under following schedule.

The students of schools located in North Nazimabad, Liaqatabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town, Gulberg, New kasrachi and Jamshed Town can collect their marks sheets on November 26, 2012. The students studying in the schools or educational institutions located in Korangi, SITE, Keamari, Lyari, Baldia and Orangi can receive their marks sheets from the board on November 27, 2012. The students of the schools or educational institutes situated in Shah Faisal, Bin Qasim, Gadap Town, Saddar, Malir and Landhi can receive their marks sheets on November 28, 2012.

Free Laptops Scheme 2012 Launched for KPK Students

Peshawar, The KPK government is going to launch the laptop scheme for the brilliant and talented students of the province in recognition of their abilities and talents which they showed during the academic year. This has been decided in a meeting which was held in the Chief Minister Secretariat and this meeting was presided over by the Chief Minister Amir Haider Hoti.

According to the sources, giving influence from the Punjab government for award of laptops to the talented and brilliant students, KPK government decided to launch a ‘Naway Sahar Scheme’ under which about 25,000 talented and intelligent and position holder students of the province will be awarded with laptops during last week of December. The KPK government has reserved about 1 billion rupees for the subject scheme.

The scheme was started with its first session for award of laptops to the students for BS 4 years program and medical and engineering students of the province. The quota of 2% has been fixed for the disabled students of medical and engineering disciplines. The government official has also made it clear that a laptop has the price of Rs.40,000 for which 1 billion rupees has been reserved and if the cost of the laptop in decreased then it is hoped that more laptops will be bought for more students. The students who are getting education in master programs will not be allowed for this scheme.

Issue of Scholarship Schedule by Karachi University

For the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, submission of application can be done upto 1st Dec, as announced on Thursday, by the Karachi University, in Karachi.

A seminar on how to submit an online application form for the EMEA scholarship was organized to help the students and the staff to avail the fully funded scholarship to Europe, the Erasmus Mundus Europe Asia (EMEA), as according to the statement of the University, by the Karachi University EMEA Pakistan coordination team.

Mariya Khan, the Assistant Coordinator of EMEA explained in detail that candidates had to select the Target Group, Mobility Group, Academic fields of studies and code of EU, for starting an online application.
