Punjab Govt to build Elementary Board for class 5th and 8th

To conduct 5th class and 8th class exams on division level, Punjab government is planning to establish ‘Elementary Board’. The contract between Punjab government and Punjab examination Commission (PEC) will end in 2015 and Elementary Board will be formed after that. According to sources, an initial structure will be prepared within three months for the establishment of board.

The current regulatory body for class 5 and 8 exams is PEC, which was established by Punjab government in 2005. PEC organizes the 5th and 8th class exams for the students of Punjab every year. In February, the exams are conducted and result for both the grades are declared on 31st March.

District authorities verify the roll no. slips after it is sent by PEC to them after registration of students. PEC will also correct the error if district authorities find any and sent back to them. The final roll no. slips will be provided to schools and private students by district authorities after it is provided to them by PEC.
