20% Discount to Punjab University Students on Starlet Shoes

Lahore, Starlet shoes started a unique campaign for providing facilities of shoes of all brands to the students, teachers and staff of the Punjab University. This decision was made during a meeting of Director Marketing Starlet shoes Nadeem Sohail with Vice Chancellor Punjab University Prof Dr. Mujahid Kamran and in the presence of MPA Khawaja Imran Nazir and member syndicate Javed Sami.

Starlet shoes has started this campaign for providing facilities of the students studying in Punjab University for their numerous variety of all shoes available in their all outlet where the students can show the identity card of the Punjab University and get 20% discount on all shoes.

This decision was implemented after signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Vice Chancellor of the Punjab University and Director Marketing Starlet shoes.

Over 10,000 Need Based Scholarships to Students Award by HEC

Islamabad, Higher Education Commission has made a plan to provide facilities to the students of deprived and less privileged areas of the country for getting higher education in the well reputed and well known universities of the country through scholarship. For this purpose HEC is going to announce more than 10,000 scholarships to the students who are talented and bright but they have limited financial sources and they cannot continue their education as their parents cannot the heavy financial burden due to their poverty.

These scholarships are going to be presented to the students on need basis during the current financial year. The students living in less developed and remote areas of the country can get benefit of this scholarship scheme and complete their higher education in well known universities of the country and support their families along with bring a good name for the country. HEC has also announced that these scholarships will be awarded on merit basis which will give opportunities to the deserving students to make their career bright and excellent.

Monthly Scholarships to Position Holders of KPK

The top 10 position holders of the board examinations of the province were awarded monthly scholarships, on Wednesday, under the Stori Da Pakhtunkhwa Program, by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti.

At the house of Chief Minister, where he was addressing, the function was arranged for the award of scholarships to the top 10 position holders. The monthly scholarships of Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively were given to the 10 toppers from each educational board of the province in matriculation and Intermediate examinations.

For Nursing Course of 3-Years, 56 Girls selected

The selection for the admissions to the three years training courses have been made in the Nursing School of Lahore General Hospital, in which total of 56 F.Sc girl candidates are selected, in Lahore. Today, on Thursday, the first list of selected candidates on the merit basis will be display.

Prof Dr Anjum Habib Vohra, the Postgraduate Institute Principal and General Hospital, directed that selected candidates should be informed through registered letters on their addresses, to the Nursing School Administration, as according to the information.

Applications, as according to the Nursing School Principal Raees Ishtiaq, were submitted by 16000 candidates for the training courses.

Joining reports if not submitted by the selected candidates within a week, as according to Ms. Ishtiaq would result in the cancellation of their admissions and later the second list of selected candidates on merit basis would be displayed.

Ms. Ishtiaq further told that monthly stipend and in the hostels, free boarding and lodging facilities will be provided to the girls, which are selected.

AIOU Promoting Science Education by establishing Science Club

For the promotion of science and technology all over the country, and to involve and encourage youth, the science club is going to be established, which was declared on Wednesday, by the (AIOU) Allama Iqbal Open University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi.

The working of the club, for the countrywide basis, will be done under the title of “Science for the Society.” The Chairperson of the Department of Chemistry in AIOU, Professor Dr. Naghmana Rashid is going to be supervising the working of the club. The Intel Pakistan organizes the 3-day national science fair, in the concluding ceremony of which, Prof. Dr. Naghmana Rashid while speaking made this announcement.

In order to the resolve issues that are being faced by the people of under privilege sections and especially those living in the rural areas, many useful projects will be given by the students of AIOU and other educational institutions, which are all invited under this scheme.

Issue of Fee Submission of Pham-D Exams by PU

In the Punjab University, the schedule of the submission of admission forms and fee for the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pham-D) Fourth Professional, annual exam 2012 and Doctor of Pharmacy (Pham-D) One Year Condensed/Deficit Course, annual exam 2011, has been issued by Examination Department.

With single fee, the last date of submission of admission forms is Nov 22, 2012, while with double fee the submission of admission forms can be done till 23rd Nov, 2012. The dates for the said examination commence are 17th Dec, 2012 and 3rd Dec 2012 respectively.

Dates of BA/BSc Exams Admission Forms postponed

Sargodha, the University of Sargodha has delayed the dates for the submission of admission forms of the regular, late college and private college students, who wants to give the Annual Examination 2013 of BA/BSc. After the delay, the dates of the submission of admission forms are as follows, 27 Nov 2012 is the last date for the submission of admission forms with single fee, while the date of submission of admission forms with double fee is Dec 04, 2012, followed by tripled fee for the submission of forms till 11 Dec 2012.

Protest of Students of University for delay of House Jobs

Hyderabad (report of Beoror), In the Liaqaut Medical University, the students of last year, told that the LUMS Administration gets more than Rs 10 crore in budget, for the house jobs of the students. But LUMS Administration is trying to delay the house job of the students for one year. Mulk Musadaq, Dr. Arsalan Akili, Mehr-ul-Nisa, Batool and many others from the Press Club in the Press Conference and Protest said that the students of last year of LUMS MBBS, are protesting for seven days, but including Administration, the Govt of Sindh didn’t took any notice. They told that 360 students are in the last year of MBBS in LUMS, for whom according to the rules and regulation of PMDC, the house jobs should be started from February 2013, but the administration wasting their one year, wants to start the house jobs from February 2014, because of which the students will not be able to get commission and will not be able to study abroad for one year. They appealed to the Prime Minister of Sindh, Governor of Sindh, Provincial Minister of Health and many others that for year 2013, by giving house jobs to the batches of 2006 and 2007 together, save one year of the students of last year. Recently they have announced that for Muharram, they are stopping their protest, but after Muharram the protest will be start again.

4-Year B.Ed Program 2013 Admissions started by KU

Admissions in the 4-Year B.Ed Program Session 2013, has been opened by the Department of Teacher Education in the University of Karachi. Thursday Nov29, 2012, is the last date of submission of application forms.

HEC approved current education policy; Congenial Academic Environment with professional commitment is the basis of Professional degree. With the entitlement of BPS 17 as Elementary School Teacher (EST), the service rules of teaching positions are in the final stage of approval.

Merit-cum need scholarships which are funded by USAID are available.

The Criteria of Eligibility is in Intermediate (HSC) or equivalent examinations, atleast 50% marks.

From the United Bank Limited (UBL), Silver Jubilee Gate Booth, University road, Karachi, from Nov 20 to Nov 29, 2012, on the payment of Rs. 1000/-, admission forms can be obtained.

Thursday Nov 29, 2012 is the last date of submission of forms, while on Dec 03, 2012, the Aptitude Test will be held at the faculty of Arts, at 10:00 am.

On Thursday Dec 06, 2012 list of candidates for the interview will be displayed and on Saturday Dec 08, 2012, the interviews will be conducted.

On Monday Dec 10, 2012, list of successful candidates will be displayed, while on Friday Jan 04, 2013, the classes will start.

PGD Courses Admissions started by KU on Dec 3

The admissions, on Monday, were announced by Prof. Dr. Mudassir Uddin, the Chairman of Department of Statistics, of University of Karachi, for the Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) courses, in Karachi.

In PGD in Statistics, from December 3, the process of admissions will be commenced, as according to Prof. Dr. Mudassir. In the University of Karachi, till December 21, admissions forms can be collected from the Department of Statistics. From recognized institution, those passed their graduation level courses, as according to Prof. Dr. Mudassir, will be granted admissions on the merits.

The successful candidates’ list, on the Departmental notice board, will be displayed on 26th December.  The submission of fee, from 27th December to 4th January, 2013, will be completed. He said that classes will be commenced from 7th January, 2013. The schedule of the classes of PGD Statistics is from 3pm to 5:30 pm.
