Islamabad, COMSATS Institute of Information technology has announced the opening of admissions for Spring 2013 in the levels of Bachelor and Masters in its Virtual campus. The administration of the institute announced that the students who are eligible should obtain admission forms from the main office of the institute and submit the same till the final date of the admission which is fixed as January 15, 2013.

The higher education being imparted in the country is about 5% which is very less and shameful in the growing standard of education across the world. The standard of higher education in other countries of the world including Bangladesh with7%, India with 13%, Malaysia with 29%, England with 59%, US with 82% and Finland with 94%. Keeping in view the less educational facilities available in the country, it was decided to set up an institute with higher learning and research facilities in Islamabad in April 1998. Its first campus was founded in Islamabad and then it was given advancement with the advent of various other campuses in other cities of the country in 2000. This status of the institute was also upgraded through making amendment in its charter to the Degree awarding institute.
There was acute shortage of institutes and universities in the country which were providing the facilities of higher learning to the local students. The students who passed their undergraduate or graduate studies, they did not found any institute where they carry on their education and get higher education. Feeling the necessity of setting up of new universities and institutes, various universities have been started in the public sector which are providing education of higher learning at affordable rate of fee to the students. This institute is providing education through establishment of its most sophisticated and decent virtual campus which is providing education to the students through adoption of information technology tools which ensure them the quality of education being imparted to them.
With the passage of time, this institute has given fruitful results for providing high quality of education to the students. The different campuses of the institute present in various cities of the country ensure the education to the students who cannot attend the institute down to time limitation, financial constraints, jobs hazards or living in far off and remote areas of the country. The distant learning system of the university is working through adoption of various other information technology tools which makes it easier for the students to learn and get more and more education.
