HEC Organizes Inter Varsities Cricket Championship PU Qualifies for Final

Lahore, Higher Education Commission has organized the All Pakistan Inter Universities Cricket Championship in which the semi final match was played between Punjab University and Gomal University.

While playing first, Gomal University scored 131 runs in 35 overs as this match was restricted to 40 overs each side. Punjab University cricket team captain, Ahmed Akram and Hafiz Naeem took 4 and 3 wickets respectively. While chasing the target of 132 runs, Punjab University cricket team achieved the target of 132 runs in only 19 overs. Baber Manzoor and Hafiz Saad scored 66 and 39 runs respectively and captain of Punjab University cricket team, Ahmed Akram scored 19 runs and declared “Man of the Match”.

AIOU Organizes Students Week at Main Campus Islamabad

Allama Iqbal Open University is going to organize the Students Week in their main campus at Islamabad. The Students Week will be arranged by the Directorate of Students Advisory & Counseling Services from March 19 to 21, 2013. The organizers have invited the students living in Islamabad and Rawalpindi on March 21, 2013 during the closing ceremony of the Students Week and various events are being celebrated there. The students, who are interested in the events like singing, poetry, stage drama and mimicry, can participate in the events by sending their consent to the University through email.

Army Selection Centers present in most of the big cities of the country have the mandate to conduct the admission procedure for grant of admission in the college. When Army Medical College announces complete schedule for grant of admission, then General headquarters starts the selection of the cadets for the disciplines of MBBS and BDS following the military procedures.

Army Medical College announces admission of the new cadets in the MBBS/BDS courses in the college during September/October. Army Medical College is also affiliated with the National University or Sciences and Technology who conducts the written test of the candidates.  Complete schedule of the admission of the cadets in the Army Medical College will be updated.

The eligibility criteria of the candidates for grant of admission is FSc (Pre-Medical) from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of the country with at least 60% marks or an equivalent qualification (British General Certificate of Education (Advanced level)/International Baccalaureate/Overseas High School Certificate) in the subjects of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, which are also approved by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. The candidates will be 17-25 years of age and female candidates are also eligible for applying in the Army Medical College.

The candidates should contact with the National University of Sciences and Technology for obtaining admission forms and prospectus. The NUST will announce the date of entry test through press and electronic media and this test will be conducted in the big cities like Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Quetta, Lahore and Multan. The candidates, who will be declared successful in the written test, will be announced in the media and call letters will be sent on their addresses for their medical, intelligence and interview.

The written entry test will be included with the subjects like English, Chemistry, Biology and Physics and the percentage of the subjects will be distributed as Biology 40%, Chemistry 30% and Physics/English will be 15% each.

The tuition fee and the accommodation charges are varied from time to time and the college fixes these fee and allied charges keeping in view their expenditures incurred on the cadets. The overall fee and charges are given as under:

Tuition Fees:
NUST cadets              –         Rs. 13,000 pm

Foreign cadets             –         Rs. 10,000 pm

Paying cadets              –         Rs. 3,000 pm
NOTE:  Tuition fee is not include with accommodation charges.

Accommodation Fees:
All paying students     –          Rs. 3,000pm

Army Medical College is offering admissions in the courses at undergraduate levels are Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).

The college is also offering admissions in the courses at postgraduate levels are MPhil in Anatomy, Chemical Pathology, Molecular Medicine, Pharmacology, Physiology, Community Medicine, Hematology, Histopathology, Microbiology and Science of Dental Medicine.

The candidates should appear in the written test being held in the major cities of the country and the medical exams of the passed candidates will be held in the Military Hospitals nearest to their home stations. The written test will be MCQ type on the basis of FSc syllabus in the subjects like English, Biology, Physics and Chemistry under NUST arrangements.

The Selection Board at General Headquarters Rawalpindi will conduct the intelligence/ personality tests and interviews of the candidates on the basis of their overall performance at all stages. After the selection of the candidates, they will have to sign the bond respecting their service in the Army for at least period of 13 years and the period of this bond will be started on the successful completion of their MBBS/BDS degree programs. After passing their MBBS/BDS degree courses, the graduate of the Army Medical College will complete their 22 weeks basic military training at PMA Kakul. On the successful completion of the 22 weeks basic military training at PMA Kakul, the graduates of AMC will be given regular permanent commission in Pakistan Army as Captain. After completion of graduation, the female cadets will join the Armed Forces Post Graduate Medical Institute for the purpose.

Position Holders of Youth Festival Get Free Medical Facility

Sargodha, Punjab government has organized the Youth Festivals throughout Punjab in which thousands of students took part. Some of the students got positions in the youth festival and now Punjab government has announced that the position holders will be awarded with certificates, gifts of heavy amounts and free medical facility to them.

The government has issued strict orders that committees should be formed on the Tehsil level to award of certificates, gifts of heavy amounts and free medical treatment cards to the students. He ordered to all the commissioners to complete the procedure on division level. The supervisor will perform his duties on Tehsil level on March 04 & 05, 2013, the Assistant Commissioner will complete the procedure on the district level on March 06, 2013.

The government has announced that all the position holders have been issued medical treatment cards and when they go in to the government hospitals, they will be given preference for the treatment of the students.

FCC Announces Baccalaureate Hons Fall Admissions 2013

Lahore, the Baccalaureate (Hons) admissions for Fall 2013 is going to be started in the Forman Christian College University Lahore.

The candidates can download the admission forms and complete it wholly and no column will  be left blank in the admission forms. Then they can get the print of the admission forms and write the Admission Tracking Number and attach the attested copies of Matric/O level exams result card, Intermediate Part I or equivalent, copy of CNIC of the applicant and his father/guardian or form ‘B’ and 2 recent passport size photographs with the admission forms. The candidates who have completed the Intermediate Part II, they can attach the result card to this effect with the application forms. The candidates should submit their admission forms to the Admission office, Administration Building of the college.

The candidates who have completed their intermediate Part I exams, A-level students or A-level students who wants to take 3 A level exams in May/June 2013 are eligible to apply for admission in the college. The candidates will have to appear in the Forman Entrance Admission Test and the candidates who qualify in the test, will be granted admission in the college.

The candidates will have to deposit fee of Rs.1500 in the Al-Falah Bank, Collection Booth, FC College Lahore and they should also write the names and admission tracking numbers on the challen forms to avoid misplacement of the payment.

The sample papers for the entrance admission test are uploaded on the website of the University for the Convenience of the students.

Foundation University MBBS result 2012 Announced

Islamabad, Foundation University Islamabad has announced the result of final professional MBBS (annual) exams for the year 2012. The statistics of the result show that 110 candidates got registered their names in the exams and also appeared in the exams. About 99 candidates were declared successful in the exams. Miss Mamoona  Tanveer Rana roll number 4146 of Foundation University Islamabad campus obtained 1425 marks out of 1800 marks and got the first position in the result.

AIOU Issues Admission & Fee Last Date Mar 04

Islamabad, It is to inform to all fresh and continuing candidates of Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad that the University has set the last date for the submission of admission forms and admission fee for the spring semester is March 04, 2013.

The students can deposit the admission fee in the Allied Bank, main campus branch of AIOU, H-8, Islamabad and from the regional offices of the University throughout the country. Allied Bank will remain open on Saturday on Mar 02, 2013 and the regional offices of the University will remain open on Saturday and Sunday on March 02 and 03, 2013 for issuing of prospectus and admission forms and also receipt of admission forms. If the candidates fail to submit the admission forms with admission fee in time, then they will have to submit their admission forms with admission fee till Mar 25, 2013 with late fee.
