Admissions Commence in Indus University Karachi 2013

Karachi, Indus University of Karachi has started the admission process for the year 2013 in the University in different disciplines including B.Tech, M.Tech, Business Administration and Commerce, Science & Technology, Social Sciences and Textile and Fashion Design. The eligible candidates, who want to become the part of the University, can collect the admission forms from the main office and submit them till March 15, 2013. The University will issue its notification on April 15, 2013 and the final version due on April 23, 2013. The conference will be conducted from June 24 to 26, 2013.

The University is located at Gulshan-e-Iqbal, near National Stadium, Opposite Mashriq Center, Mid city Hospital, Karachi where a large number of students are getting education from the High qualified and experienced faculty staff.

Resource Room for Special Students Set Up by PU

Lahore, The special students got privilege by establishing a resource room for them in the library of the Punjab University. The resource room for blind, dumb, deaf and special students will help to minimize their problems and facilitate them in different ways.

Vice Chancellor of Punjab University Prof Dr. Mujahid Kamran has revealed this while addressing at launching that the University give special attention to the problems of the special students and now they are going to introduce the resource room for them. He also ordered the deans, chairmen, doctors and principals of affiliated to help the special students to get education so that they can also become the useful citizen of the country.

Sindh University Receive Achievement Award 2012 from FPCCI

Jamshoro, The President of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Haji Fazal Kadir Khan Shirani wrote a letter to the Vice Chancellor to the University of Sindh, Prof Dr Nazir A. Mughal. He mentioned in his letter that the Sindh University is selected for the first FPCCI achievement award for the year 2012 in recognition of the brilliant performance in the field of education and training.

The award ceremony will be held during last week of February at Karachi. the Prime Minister of Pakistan will be the chief guest in the ceremony who will give away the gold medal to the Vice Chancellor of the University which has been selected for the achievement award for the year 2012.

The University of Sindh has shown outstanding performance in the field of education and training with firm determination and commitment. Due to its outstanding performance, FPCCI selected this University for the first achievement award for the year 2012.

SSUET Professor Selected for HEC Award for Best University Teacher

Karachi, Higher Education Commission started the best University teacher award for all Universities of the country. Now Prof Dr. Syed Faisal Ahmed Bukhari who is an associate Professor of Computer System Engineering Department of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology Karachi has been nominated  for the best University teacher award for the year 2011.

Higher Education Commission has set criteria for the best teacher and according to which the candidates should not possess less than MS/MPhil and attach with the University as regular teacher for consecutive five years and his age also should be less than 65 years. Prof Bukhari has been nominated by the SSUET’s Vice Chancellor and selection committee, considering his academic qualification, experience in relevant field, research work done and co-curricular activities. HEC has announced for getting award of best University teacher to him which comprise of a certificate and cash prize of Rs.1,00,000. This award will be given to him in an award ceremony which will be held soon.

Admissions in Executive MBA Started By FCC

Lahore, Admissions in Executive MBA are going to be started by the Forman Christian College University Lahore. The candidates who have completed graduation with 4 years work experience with GAT/GMAT test are eligible for grant of admission in the executive MBA. Admission forms are available in the main office of the college so the candidates can collect them and complete them at their earliest. They can submit the admission forms till February 28, 2013.

The eligible candidates can be assessed and they will be called for interview very soon. The new session will be started from March 18, 2013 in the college. The course offered by the FCC will be comprised of 14 imparted modules and a project spreading over 2 years with total 66 credit hours. The course has been reviewed accordingly to certify the academic standards of the University, which will be imparted by the Business department faculty.

The course will be continued for five days and its structure will be comprised of 14 modules and every module will be consisted of 48 contact hours with online assignments and every module will have 4 credit hour. In the MIS, the Business Simulation will have 6 credit hours and the project which will be assigned in the second year will have 8 credit hours. In each module, the regular measures like assignments (including case analyses), exercises, quizzes and presentations will also be included in the modules. The candidates, who fail in the modules due to any reason, will be offered with evaluation system under faculty supervision. The candidates will be awarded with degrees, who complete the modules successfully. It is also decided that every candidate will take only limited number of “retakes”.

GCU Lahore starts admission in PhD Program 2013

Lahore, The admission department of the Government College University of Lahore has started admission process in the University for PhD program for the year 2013. The admission is being granted for full time PhD programs in the disciplines of Applied Physics at CASP, Islamic Studies and Computer Science.

The candidates can obtained prospectus from the Askari Bank Limited, 6-Chattergee Road, Faqir Plaza, Urdu Bazar Lahore after making payment of Rs.500 or they can also download the admission forms from the website of the University. they can submit their admission forms along with bank draft of Rs.550 in favour of Treasurer of GC University Lahore and attach with the admission forms along with other required documents till February 28, 2013 on all working days from 08:00am to 04:00 pm to the Deputy Registrar (Admissions).

The candidates who have completed their MS/MPhil or equivalent education in Islamic Studies with 24 credit hours of course work and 6 credit hours of research work for thesis from any recognized university. They must have 6-0% marks in the annual system and 3.00/4.00 CGPA in the semester system. The candidates should also bear in mind the 6 credit hours in MPhil/MS program is mandatory.

The candidates should also qualify in the GAT-subject test with 60% marks or GRE-subject with at least 60% conducted by ETS, USA is also mandatory for grant of admission in the PhD programs.

Lahore, Institute of Islamic banking of University of Management and Technology starts admission spring 2013 in the 2 years programs of MS Islamic Banking and Finance.

The candidates who have completed the sixteen years of education from any university recognized by the Higher Education Commission are eligible to apply for grant of admission in the University. Karachi Literature Festival 2013 Organizes by Oxford University Press

Oxford University Press has made necessary arrangements for the celebration of three days Karachi Literature Festival for the year 2013 from February 15 to 17, 2013. This film festival is going to be organized at the Beach Luxury Hotel Karachi as Karachi Jashan-e-Adab festival which is open and free for all. This festival has already been celebrated from 2010 which includes different types of episodes like mushairah, lectures, debates, book launches, book fair, discussion, creative writing workshop, readings and signings. The organizers have also arranged the festival in the main city this time for the ease of the public and they also going to arrange the Children Literature Festival with the help of Karachi Literature Festival.

The organizers and the sponsors of Oxford University Press and director by Ameena Saiydi and the co-founder this festival like Asif Farrukhi and Ameena Saiydi showed their satisfaction over the increasing of number of attendants in the festival. When this festival was started in 2010, then the number of people was only 5,000 but in2011 this number of people increased to 10,000 and in 2012 this number was also increased to about 15,000. It is also expected that this year the number of people will be grown much as it is also arranged in the heart of the city. This festival also held the number of session 34 and there were the speaker performers were only 35 in 2010, but in 2011 the number of sessions was increased to about 46 and the speakers performers rose to 102. The number of speaker performers rose to 140 and the number of sessions was rose to 62. It is also expected that there will be speaker performers 214 and the number of sessions will be 129 and this festival will be continued for 3 days.

The organizers has decided that the festival will be celebrated in twelve countries like India, Pakistan, Palestine, Nepal, Italy, France, Germany, United States, UK, Russia, Canada and Sweden and the authors who will be included in this festival will write in nine different languages like Italian, Urdu-Hindi, French, German, English, Sindhi, Russian, Punjabi and Swedish. The fields which are included for creative writings are included art for booking making for children, theatre, film, photography, puppetry, spoken word poetry and dance.

The festival management has made the arrangements for giving away prizes for the best non-fiction book written in English by a Pakistani which have been published the last year are Dt Jaffer Ahmed Juried, Zubeida Mustafa and Ghazi Salahuddin who won the award in 2011. The prize awarding to the authors was about 1,00,000 and now in the current year this prize will be about 1.50,000 which will be awarded to the best non-fiction English writer.

MA Final External Exams Results Announce by KU

Karachi, The controller of Examination of University of Karachi has announced the results of external exams of MA final classes being conducted by the Karachi University.

There are as many as 2696 candidates who got registered with the University but only 2580 candidates appeared in the exams out of which 1167 candidates were passed the final MA exams and remaining 1410 candidates were declared unsuccessful. The university held the result of 3 candidates due to some unknown reasons. The University has also declared that there are only 41 candidates who got the first division and 1125 candidates stood in the second division and four candidates stayed in the third division.

The first position was shared by two students, named Nehel Khalid Khanani and Farzana Mansoor Ali and Kanza Saleem secured second position in the exams while Faisal Ellahi was the only male students who got third position in the whole exams.

Establishment of National Centre for Resettlement and Rehabilitation in PU

Lahore, National Center for Resettlement and Rehabilitation is going to be established at the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies of Punjab University. This center is going to be established with the collaboration of the World Bank, which will give training for programs, academic research activities and policy guidelines for the relocation and restoration of the challenges.

Vice Chancellor of Punjab University Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran held a meeting with the delegation of World bank comprising of the Development Specialist Mr Chaohua Zhang, Environment and Resettlement Specialist of NESPAK Mr Irfan ul Haq and Director ISCS and Dean Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences Prof Dr Muhammad Zakariya Zakir. The VC thanked the delegation and said that this university will handle the development requirements and challenges of the Pakistani society. He also presented the University souvenir to the guests.
