KU Starts Admissions in Evening Classes Today

Karachi, University of Karachi has started admissions in different disciplines including Masters, BS Hons, diploma and certificate courses for the evening classes for the year 2013. The admission process is started today on December 17, 2012 which is announced by the Director of evening classes Prof Dr Abu Zar Wajdi.

According to the details of the subjects and classes in which admission are being granted, are included BS (Hons) in Agriculture and Agri Business Management, Economics, Education, English, Applied Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Applied Physics, Business Administration, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Studies, Food Science and Technology, Psychology, Public Administration, Urdu, Women Studies and Zoology, Audiology and Speech Pathology, Actuarial Sciences and Risk Management, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Sociology, Special Education, Statistics, Botany, General History.

The candidates who want to get admission in Master degree courses should submit their admission forms for grant of admission in the disciplines including MCS, MBA, Library & Information science and Pharm D courses.

The candidates who want to get admission in the certificate courses are included Mathematics, Social Work, Child Psychology, Persian Language, Petroleum Technology, Mass Communication, Library and Information Science, Local Government, Arabic, Human Behaviour and Urdu.

The eligible candidates should collect admission forms with prospectus from UBL bank counter at Silver Jubilee Gate of the University on the cash payment of Rs.1000 and submit till December 26, 2012.

The candidates who apply for graduation programs must have 45 percent marks and the candidates applying for master level programs including MBA and BBA programs and the candidates have 55 percent marks are eligible for applying in BSSE/BSCS programs. The departments will conduct the entry test for the grant of admission. The candidates who qualify in the entry test will be eligible for grant of admission.

FCC Ewing Literary Society Stands 3rd in Essay Writing Competition

Lahore, The Ewing Literary Society of Foreman Christian College Lahore participated in the essay writing competition which was arranged in Kinnaird College by the Political Science department on December 07, 2012 and got third position in the competition. The competition was organized in the collaboration of the IPAIDABRIBE on the eve of International Anti-Corruption Day. The participants of the competition were given the topic “Is corruption the price we pay for democracy?”

The chief guest of the event was Justice (retired) Nasira Javed Iqbal who delivered her address to the audience in which she emphasized to root out the corruption from our society. She insisted that the society in which corruption is persisted for a long time, can not be prosperous and it cannot develop in better way. If the nation want to make progress and want to have facilities of all types, then they should abolish corruption from all norms of society.

Similarly Government Post Graduate College Jhang arranged a program entitled “all Pakistan Punjabi Takara” which was held on December 01, 2012. Various teams from different schools and colleges of the country took part in the competition. The student of FCC Lahore partook in the competition and he spoke on the subject and got 3rd position as Punjabi disclaimer.

According to the details, Mr. Raffi Ullah Kakar, who belongs to the less privileged province, Balochistan is the winner of this well esteemed scholarship being presented by the Oxford University every year.

Mr. Rafi Ullah Kakar is the student of Political Department in GC University who won this prestigious scholarship which is the international pride for him and for Pakistan. Addressing to the gathering which was being arranged in his honour, Mr. Rafi Ullah said that it is the great achievement for him and his family. He said that he belong to a less developed area of Balochistan where educational facilities are equal to none. His completed his early education from his native town, shifted to Lahore for further education.

He said that he thought that the educational life in Lahore will be very tough but he soon realized that it was the suitable place for getting further action and to do something in his life. On the award of this scholarship, he thanked God and pledged it the blessing of Allah and the result of the prayers of his old parents who appreciated him to get further education instead of intense financial hazards.

The Rhodes scholarships are awarded to the students of various countries of the world including Canada, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Pakistan, United States, India, Jamaica, Bermuda, Kenya, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, Zambia, South Africa, Malawi, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Every year, 83 scholars are selected for the study in the Oxford University. This scholarship is given to the students who worked for the peace and humanity in the society.

PU Announces MA Level Exams Result

Lahore, Punjab University, Examinations Department announced results of various annual exams 2012 at Master level including MA Kashmiriat Part-I, MA History Part-II and MSc Mathematics Part-I.

The examination department has also announced the detailed schedule for the practical/viva voce exams for the first and second year BS Computer Science 2nd annual exams 2011, first annual exams 2012 and 3rd year BS Computer Science exams 2012. All these practical/viva voce exams are scheduled to be held in December 2012.

Punjab Govt Lay Foundation Stone of Medical College in Bhakkar

Bhakkar, According to the Special Assistant for Health to the Chief Minister, Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that the Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has already accorded approval for the establishment of medical college in Bhakkar. The medical college will be given the name of Thal Medical College for which the Secretary Health has formed a committee which will work on the project to make the medical college functional for start of classes during next academic year 2013-2014.

KU Introduces Institute of Chinese Language

Karachi, Vice Chancellor of Karachi University, Prof Dr Muhammad Qaiser has announced that the Institute of Chinese Language is going to be established in the University.

Prof Dr. Muhammad Qaiser was on the tour of Sichuan Normal University China with Prof Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, Registrar of Karachi University.

The aim of the establishment of Chinese Language Institute is to provide the students facility of understanding the Chinese language while attending the advanced course free of cost from the Sichuan Normal University China.

A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between Karachi University and Sichuan Normal University China at this occasion.

Admission Open in PGD Statistics at KU

Karachi, Admission process is opened in the Postgraduate diplomas in Statistics in Karachi University. The admission forms are available in the relevant department and the students who want to take admission in the postgraduate diploma courses at Karachi University in Statistics department should report to the concerned department and obtain admission forms. The students will have to submit the admission forms on or before December 21, 2012 after completing them fully.

The concerned administration of the University will display the list of eligible candidates on the notice board of the department on December 26, 2012. The admitted students will have to deposit the admission fee from December 27, 2012 to January 04, 2013 and classes for PGD courses will be started from January 07, 2013.

This is the one year course which will be conducted from 03:00 pm to 05:30 pm and the students who will complete this course with their BA/BSc/B.Com in Biological Sciences will be eligible for grant of admission in Masters in Computer Sciences and MA/MSc in Statistics.

First Open Mic Night Organize at FCC

Lahore, Formanite Music Society has arranged first ever Open Mic Night at E-025 in Foreman Christian College Lahore on December 07, 2012. The House Band society has arranged this musical concert which was attended by a large number of students along with teaching staff.

The ‘House Band’ society consisting of Ali Abbas (President), Shahruck Sherwani (General Secretary/Director) and Hamza Butt (Event Manager/Director) who made strenuous efforts for conducting this memorable event and made it successful. They also made arrangements for the audition of the students for including them into the event management and gave them chance to take p[art in the event as signers. They sang popular songs with the innovative deliveries.
